Series 27 Examination-Financial and Operations Principal
Purpose
Any person who has the final responsibility for the accuracy of financial reports to the SEC or any other securities industry regulatory body, must qualify as a Financial and Operations Principal.
A firm's Financial and Operations Principal would also be responsible for the supervision of individuals involved in the preparation of financial reports, maintenance of the firms' books and records, and maintenance of the firms' back office operations.
Successful completion of this examination qualifies the candidate as a Financial and Operations Principal.
The Examination
The examination is administered in two parts. Part I is composed of 100 multiple choice questions. Part II is a series of questions relating to a sample trial balance. Part II counts for 40 points for a total of 140 points. The candidate must score at
least 70% of the 140 points to receive a passing grade.
The examination may be taken at any Prometric Sylvan Testing Center.
Study Program
Upon enrollment, the candidate is provided with study material. It is composed of a lesson book that covers all areas to be tested and a set of practice examinations with complete examinations.
The candidate must devote approximately 40 hours of study time to these materials.
Classes
A one-day review class is held once each month. The class is from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The candidate should complete the study materials prior to attending the review class.
We recommend that the candidate schedule the Series 27 examination a few days after the class.
The study program can also be completed on a correspondence basis rather than attending the one day review.
